Bubba

Dress, Belt, Boots: J. Crew Vest: Zara
I have to start out by saying I totally forgot yesterday was Two for Tuesday and did not post 2 outfits. I'm a slacker, what can I say. I'm going to blame all the turkey and sugar still roaming around in my blood. It's making me a little forgetful. At least I managed not to kill anyone at work yesterday right? I'm a nurse...so, yeah...that counts.

Anywho, this is the outfit I wore on Thanksgiving. I thought it was festive AND practical because it camouflaged my second stomach (Bubba) that emerged throughout the day. Yes, I named that bad boy. I was also really pumped about my fur vest...until my little cousin started making fun of me and petting me like I was the dog. It's funny how a 10 year old can shake my confidence. Funny or pathetic, either way.

I also wore this dress to work last month. On Halloween. With black boots. Yep, I was a walking cliche.

The Itsy Bitsy Spid...

Shorts: American Eagle Tee, Tank & Boots: J. Crew
I've been wanting to try out the shorts/tights/boots combo for awhile now. This is my first attempt. I'll give it a B-. Mostly because in half the pics I'm either not smiling, or I'm feverishly checking for spiders on the shed (ahem, pic number 4). No seriously, that's what I was doing. Someone has a severe spider phobia. And I mean BAD. I couldn't even type out the full word for the post title. So we'll blame some of my meak half - smile pics on the nerves that Charlotte & her babies were in the vicinity, but for real...I'm gonna up the smiles & sunshine because if I'M not acting excited about my outfits...how can you? So get ready for it. Cheesy, tooth filled, squinty smiles. As soon as we get away from the shed.

Monday

Shirt, Skirt, Scarf, Boots: J. Crew Vest: Madewell Tights: Target

This Copycat Monday outfit was inspired by Jen of Jen loves Kev...check it & her out here. I'm sure many of you are familiar with her blog...but she has FANTASTIC everyday style. FAN - TAS - TIC.

Speaking of fantastic, hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend. I will fill you in on mine at some point, but it definitely involved eating until I was in pain (seriously though, oops), several egg nog lattes, leftover sandwiches, WINE, playing Apples to Apples with my BFFs, an impromptu "Margarita Saturday," sleeping, shopping/getting some sweet deals, movie watching (Breaking Dawn ROCKED), oh, and taking outfit pics in front of my dad's really old rusty truck. That thang up there has been sitting in our backyard for years. YEARS. My mom is finally glad someone got some use out of it. My dad, well, he's got some work to do before anyone else ever will...

Maybe I can lug it up to Boston...it makes for a pretty awesome backdrop right?

Stripe Out

Top & Scarf: J. Crew (< $60) Skirt: Forever 21 Socks: Target Boots: Steve Madden (old)

Hey guys! It's Frugal Friday up in he-ya. I know pattern mixing is very popular right now...but what about mixing the same pattern like I did here...is it a fashion faux paus and I should be shunned in the style blogging world? Or do you think it works because the stripes are different sizes? Respond carefully...I can be a big, over-sensitive cry baby, and you don't want to see that.

Just kidding...be honest. Mostly.

Gobble. What a funny word.

Dress & Belt: Madewell Earrings, clutch & crystal bracelet: J. Crew Silver bracelets: Forever 21 Gold/silver bracelet: Anthro Shoes: Steve Madden (3 years ago)

Things That Make Me Warm & Fuzzy Thursday:

1. THANKSGIVING. Hope you have a happy one & eat tons and tons of turkey, etc. After checking out my outfit of course :)
2. This wall. It is literally around the corner from our apartment, which is super exciting because we won't have to walk very far to take outfit pics when it's cold. If I'm even brave enough to take them outside when it's FA -reezing. But as we were taking this pic, a drunk guy decided to stop and check us out. Nothing better than being stared at by a swaying, drooling man in dirty clothes. It was a real self - esteem booster. So, thank you drunk sir.
3. Surprise birthday parties! I wore this outfit to my friend KB's bday shindig, and I threw my fur vest over it, which looked surprisingly fantastic. I felt so sheek. But back to the party...we got all fancy and drank wine & cocktails & ate French food. So fun!
4. That Target commercial, you know the one I mean...with the blonde chick in the track suit & heels...gearing up for the sales tomorrow. Cracks me up every time, especially when she's leafing through the catalog, shrieking at all the sales. Ha. Anyway, SHE gives new meaning to the phrase "shopping is my cardio."
5. Going to Lord & Taylor with my mom & sister, which we will hopefully do tomorrow! There is just something about going to L & T that reminds me of  the holidays, but also just my childhood in general. See mom, you have to take some of the blame for my shopping habits...you started me early :)

Bedhead

Dress, Shirt, Bag: J. Crew Shoes: Steve Madden (3 years ago) Glasses: Warby Parker

I'm classin' up this weeks Working Girl Wednesday with my leopard print belt & my fancy high heeled booties. I found these in my closet recently, and was pleasantly surprised by the fact that I didn't want to yank my feet out of them after 5 minutes. So, they are featured in today's outfit, AND tomorrow's. I actually wore them all night on Saturday, and the hubs only had to piggy back me after the last bar and not between each one. Ha, just kidding, I WISH he would piggy back me.

P.S. There is just something about this wall that always makes me look like I have bed head. Yep, blaming  my bad hair day on the wall. That makes sense right? I feel like I always need validation from you guys...

Flava of the week

Vest: Zara Chambray shirt, necklace & striped tee: J. Crew Jeans: Madewell Boots: Nine West (sale)

fur vest
Dress: Balmain Vest: Quiksilver Clutch: J. Crew Shoes: Christian Louboutin

The Two for Tuesday item is a faux fur vest (WOO HOO!). I've worn it in a very casual way, but I also thinks it looks pretty fabulous with a dressy outfit like above. Oh faux fur, you are just so classy.

This is my favorite outfit of the week. It is SO comfortable...and that vest is my new favorite item. The chambray shirt might be a little jealous of the vest, since he was my favorite up until Mr. Fur Vest came along...but what can I say, chambray...you are all just flavas of the week. So now anytime I go into my closet, chambray just hangs there all limp, lifeless and blue (ha ha ha) because he knows I'm going to reach for Mr. Vest instead of him.  And yep, I really just gave my clothes gender specific pronouns. Is that weird? Come back soon :)

Sans my love (of J.Crew)

Jacket: Zara Cardi & necklace: Madewell Dress/tunic: Urban Outfitters Socks & tights: Target Boots: Steve Madden (3 years ago) Clutch: Love, Cortnie (buy it here)

This outfit was inspired by Veronika of Girl & Closet...check her out & leave some love :)

I think that this is my most diverse blog outfit so far. You guys know by now I tend to wear alot of J. Crew & Madewell...so I was excited that this outfit highlighted so many different stores/brands. It only took stalking looks put together by another blogger to snap me out of my J.Crew trance...so thanks Veronika...for helping a girl step out of the box.

Oh, and this is the park/graffiti wall I mentioned in one of my earlier posts (for those who are new, I've been wanting to take outfit pics in front of this "graffiti" wall that is in a park usually filled with REALLY intimidating middle schoolers, who I also refer to as punks). As you can see, it was punk - free on this day...so I could go all out with my bloggy poses without blushing & wanting to hide. I don't know if you can see the wall, but when I got closer, I realized the "graffiti" was actually a painting of awkward looking children. Not as cool as graffiti would have looked  (photo wise)...but I'm sure the neighbors prefer the awkward children paintings to spray painted profanity. In fact, I bet they would be pretty upset with me if they knew I secretly hoped for a wall covered in big bubbly lettered (possibly bad) words.

Vested

Vest: H&M Leggings: Target White tee & Boots: J. Crew

OK it's Frugal Friday (and remember, this excludes the boots for the Fall/Winter season...sorry, I'm a cheater). I wore this outfit when I was home in NY last week. Does it look super comfy? Because it was. I went into H & M (with my elbow pads, I ALWAYS need those bad boys in H & M), looking for a fur vest...and this is what I came out with. I wasn't quite sure about it at first...light pink sweater...greyish fur...but I put it on, and kind of fell in love. It even looked good with my elbow pads, so I just KNEW it was a winner. For those of you who have no idea why I keep referring to elbow pads, just see my last post :) So, you can hate on the faux fur pink sweater best...but I'm gonna love it & stroke it...ALL. DAY. LONG.

HOORAY it's Friday!!

Team Edward

Pants, Boots, Bag: J. Crew Shirt & Scarf: Madewell Bracelet: J. Crew outlet

Things That Make Me Warm & Fuzzy Thursday:

1. Leopard print & fur. I wore this top to a little party that was held at a "Rod & Gun Club." What is that? I have NO idea. But I decided for my own safety, I should probably hold the fur that night.
2. Shopping during the week instead of on the weekends. I went and did some errands/Christmas shopping last night...and it totally beats going on the weekend for a couple reasons: first, I don't have to wear my elbow pads to fight the crowds, which is awesome because those things never go with an outfit... and second, it's a GREAT excuse to skip the gym. So is just about anything I do, but last night, THAT was my excuse.
3. Twilight! I will probably not see it this weekend, but I am SO excited (maybe too excited) to see it soon. And actually, I think Nick is too. YES! (go Team Edward by the way).
4. Pecan Pie & Riesling: the two items I am responsible for bringing to Thanksgiving. Can you tell I like sweet things? I could eat a whole pecan pie in one sitting. I may or may not have driven to Stop & Shop last year and picked one up...and ate 75% while sitting alone in my car. I may or may not have drank 75% of a bottle of Riesling by myself last Wednesday. What does this tell you? Yes, I overindulge in more than just clothes. Doesn't look like my items will be making it to Thanksgiving mom...
5. Seeing Monty TWICE in a month. OK maybe this will become a blog about dogs...
